During the pandemic, some cities and states experienced an increase in dangerous car crashes. In Minnesota, for example, between 16 and 7 March, 24 accidents and 28 deaths occurred. In the same year before, there were only 12 crashes and 13 deaths.

111 injuries from car crashes were reported in March in Austin, Texas. In March 2019, only 99 car accidents happened.

In the meantime, more drivers died in New York City from 2 to 8 March, despite fewer on-road cars.
